The claim
"Federal agents saw a matte black triangle hover and fly off silently."
Where the idea comes from
A memo in the Pentagon's 7th UAP release (23 October 2026).
What the evidence shows
- Witnesses at a sensitive site described a matte black triangle about 13 to 15 feet across that climbed 200 to 300 feet, hovered for about 20 seconds and left at high speed with no sound.
- AARO and the FBI investigated; a ground survey found no wreckage or physical evidence.
- AARO marked the case for further investigation.
- Small silent triangles are within the range of modern drones; at night, size and distance estimates are unreliable.
What is still open
Sensor data from the site, if any exists, has not been released.
Our verdict
Worth watching A credible report at a sensitive site, but a single sighting with no data released.
